Housing Support Program
Housing Support, Vancouver, BC
At Sage Nation Society, we recognize that safe and stable housing is the foundation for wellness, belonging, and personal growth—especially for youth navigating complex transitions. Our Housing Support Program is designed specifically for Indigenous and People of Colour youth aged 16 to 29 who are facing housing insecurity or are at risk of homelessness. We give special consideration to those aging out of the child welfare system, acknowledging the unique barriers and systemic challenges they often face. Whether you're seeking emergency shelter, transitional housing, or permanent long-term options, we are here to walk alongside you with care and respect.

Our team provides hands-on, culturally grounded support throughout every stage of the housing journey. This includes assistance with searching for safe and affordable homes, help navigating rental applications, communication with landlords, and accessing relevant community supports. We understand that paperwork and systems can feel overwhelming, especially when trust in institutions has been broken—so we stay consistent, relational, and youth-centered in every step we take together.

Beyond securing housing, we offer support with move-in essentials, including help with covering first month’s rent, damage deposits, and arrears when possible. We also recognize the importance of feeling spiritually and emotionally grounded in a new space. For those who choose, we offer an optional Home Blessing Ceremony rooted in Indigenous traditions, creating a meaningful transition into a new chapter of life. Once settled, youth can continue working with our team to develop a personalized resource and wellness plan to ensure long-term housing stability.

Our goal isn’t just to help young people find a place to live—it’s to support them in building a home, rooted in safety, identity, and belonging. Through culturally informed guidance, practical support, and an unwavering commitment to youth voice and choice, we aim to make housing a pathway to healing, empowerment, and independence.

If you're located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and are interested in accessing our Housing Support Program—or if you know a young person who could benefit from it—we invite you to connect with us. Youth can reach out directly, or service providers, caregivers, and community members can submit a third-party referral form. Together, we can help build pathways to stability, connection, and belonging.
